Customs and compliance

Cargo moves only when the declarations are right. We coordinate the filings and the checks so that your shipment meets the rules at both ends.

Customs declarations

Hong Kong import and export declarations coordinated; customs clearance at origin and destination arranged through licensed customs brokers.

When to use it

Hong Kong requires import and export declarations for most goods, lodged within 14 days of import or export. Most other countries require clearance before the cargo is released.

What we handle

  • Preparing the declaration details for Hong Kong
  • Coordinating lodgement through the electronic service
  • Arranging clearance abroad with licensed customs brokers
  • Passing on duty and tax figures for payment

What to send us for a quote

  • Commercial invoice and packing list
  • HS codes if known
  • The importer's or exporter's details
  • Any licences or permits the goods need

HS code classification support

Help finding the Harmonized System code that customs will apply to your goods.

When to use it

A new product, a product that could fit more than one heading, or a code that a buyer or customs has questioned.

What we handle

  • Reviewing the product description, materials and use
  • Suggesting the likely heading and code
  • Pointing out where an official ruling from customs may be worth getting

What to send us for a quote

  • A full product description
  • Materials and composition
  • What the product is used for
  • Photos or a specification sheet

The final classification is the importer's responsibility and the decision of the customs authority.

Sanctions and restricted-party screening support

Checks on the parties, goods and route before a booking is made.

When to use it

Before every new counterparty, and for goods or routes where export controls or sanctions may apply.

What we handle

  • Screening the named parties against published sanctions lists
  • Flagging goods that may need an export licence
  • Raising questions before booking rather than after

What to send us for a quote

  • Full names and addresses of shipper, consignee, notify party and end user
  • Goods description and HS code
  • The route

Screening supports your own compliance checks; it does not replace them.
