02What we are for
The commercial side of shipping
Moving cargo is half the work. The other half is paper: the charter party, the bill of lading, the certificate of origin, the insurance certificate, and documents that must match a letter of credit to the letter.
WSH Shipping arranges both halves. We book vessels, containers and air freight, and we prepare and check the documents that go with them, so that the shipment holds up with the buyer, the bank and customs.
In the Hong Kong trading houses, a document was not finished until the company's seal was on it. Our mark is a seal for the same reason: we put our name only to work we have checked.
03Practice
How we work
- In writing. Quotes, bookings and changes are confirmed by email, so there is a record.
- Questions first. If a price depends on something we do not know, we ask before we quote.
- Licensed work through licensed partners. Customs brokerage abroad, dangerous goods handling and insurance are arranged with licensed brokers, handlers and insurers.
- One contact. You deal with one desk from enquiry to delivery.
